Nella giornata di ieri, sul social X è andato virale un video della lottatrice Genesis che ha purtroppo sbagliato una mossa sulla sua avversaria in uno show della WOW (Women Of Wrestling) andando a colpirla con un calcio in faccia a seguito di un tuffo in rotazione dal paletto. Questo tipo di incidente ovviamente può capitare nel professional wrestling, ma il suo ha attirato l’attenzione di molti.

Uno su tutti a parlarne è stato il giornalista Sean Ross Sapp di Fightful che è rimasto scioccato da quanto accaduto, e quando qualcuno gli ha chiesto dove la WOW trova le atlete da far lottare, ha risposto:
A volte prendono delle wrestler dalla indies. A volte sono davvero brave. Altre volte (le altlete) si presentano a dei casting, le allenano internamente e lottano in WOW semplicemente per anni e anni.

A confermare le sue parole sono intervenute anche alcune atlete che hanno lottato in WOW, come ad esempio Heidi Howitzer che ha testimoniato dicendo:
La triste verità sulla WOW è che l’azienda continua a darsi la zappa sui piedi e per questo motivo non vedrà mai la crescita che desidera. Ti fa rabbia vedere tutto questo perché conosci il potenziale di quello che potrebbe essere.

Avendo trascorso 8 stagioni in WOW, posso confermarlo. Molte ragazze hanno firmato contratti che consentono loro solo di lottare in WOW. Filmano solo una volta l’anno con molto tempo libero tra una registrazione e l’altra. Purtroppo questo impedisce loro di migliorarsi e impedisce al prodotto di crescere.
